I means you have a battery problem or a starter problem or dirty/loose battery cable connections. If the battery is operating the starter and the starter is turning the engine over but the engine won't start and run, you may have a spark problem or a fuel problem.
i have the same car when the warrning ligths come on the car will start when they dont the car will not start the probem is ignition swicth and it is hard to take out the swicth good luck
you mean the starter just freely spins and does not turn the engine? replace starter if the engine turns but does not start its either a fuel, spark, or compression problem. read up on how to check that.
You have a bad starter. Jump start the engine, and head to NAPA for a new starter. I have the same problem. Does it start right up sometimes, then other times it doesn't start? If that's the case, it's still the starter.
your engine could be seized or something mechanically locking the engine such as a dropped valve or some severe clutch damage
If the engine is running, you will destroy the starter and possibly the flywheel/pressure plate.
you might have blow out a head or over headed the engine
There could be quite a few reasons why the car won't start. If cranking or turning over the engine is the problem and the starter is good, it may be the battery. If the engine turns over but won't start you have bigger problems...
It depends if the starter is turning the engine over and its not starting the problem is not with the starter its with your ignition or fuel system most likely, If your start is making a whirring sound then its not making contact with the flywheel and you probably need a new starter
If the starter is whining while the engine is running at an idle you have a problem with the ignition switch or the starter solenoid is stuck. The starter should not be engaged while the engine is running unless you are holding the key over on the start position.
it's easy to check the solenoid, put a screw driver across the large nut & the smaller one, and if the starter engages it's the solenoid .make sure the vehicle is in park, or the e- brake is on. ( with key on)
usually a combination of low battery and faulty engine starter is the problem!
