Solidification of water depends on both temperature and pressure. Experimental phase diagrams are available in any text book on the subject. For a given pressure (in most circumstances) once the temperature is below the solidification point, reducing the temperature generally will not change its state.

The temperature of an ice surface is dependent upon the other member of that surface. (For a surface is the interface of two materials. ) The two materials will be in equilibrium at that surface.

In the Antarctic, the ice surface could be down to -70deg C.

The triple point of water - the point at which water can co exist in each of its three states is approx 0 deg C. (For the picky, it is 0.16oC.)

Why is there ice on Uranus' surface?

Because of the planets extremely cold temperature. The "ice" is frozen methane ice.

What factors can affect the time it takes for an ice cube to melt?

I think these are the factors: - temperature - sun ray - the surface which the ice cube is placed on and maybe - the size of the ice cube

What is the temperature difference between crushed ice and cubed ice?

Nothing. Both are the same thing, so they're the same temperature. The difference is in the amount of surface area - crushed ice has more surface area per volume than cubed ice, but doesn't last as long. This is why you might perceive a temperature difference between the two.

What allows you to predict ice formation on the pavement surface?

The rate of change of the pavement temperature

What changes do you observe on the outer surface of the glass when we keep ice cubes in it?

Condensation occurs on the outer surface of the glass when you keep ice cubes in the glass at room temperature or hotter.

How is rain freezing?

when the temperature on earth surface is very less or the earth is covered with a thick layer of ice then the rain will be freezing as ice.

The period of time in which a long term reduction of temperature in the earth's surface occured?

Ice Age.

What is shown by the presence of ice pellets at the surface?

is a temperature inversion with freezing rain at a higher altitude.

What is the regular melting rate of ice cubes?

this will depend on the temperature of the atmosphere the ice cube is in and the surface area to volume ratio of the ice cube amongst other things....

What is one way that the earths surface can change slowly?

The earth's surface changes through erosion, due to wind, water, vegetation, ice or temperature

Why does ice melt if it is shaped different?

Ice melts if its temperature get above its melting point. That has nothing to do with the shape of the ice. However, certain shapes have a larger surface area and will make the ice melt faster.

Causes for the ice caps to melt?

Temperature and pressure is the answer. Also, a piece of ice will melt faster when there is more surface area like with a hollow ice cube.
