The movie takes place were there was a war 30 years ago and it destroyed everthing by a nuke bomb and while in recovery everyone forgot about what was right and wrong. so this old man named carnegie, one who suvived like Eli, knew how powerful The Bible was and there was only one left. He got his thugs to find the book and found out Eli had it so he chased down Eli and took the book and killed him but Eli didnt die Eli went to the west because this voice inside him told him to take the book to the west were it would be safe but when carnegie took the book Eli lost possesion of it so he found a town west and re wrote the book and when carnegie finally opened the book, he found out that it was written in blind ppl language,lol,but after Eli re wrote the book the girl solanda or something like that who was following Eli went back to were carnegie was and did the same thing that Eli did

The book of Eli is scary because it shows the power of fanaticism. Even in the unlikely event that all the bible could be burned the idea that a man without a geiger counter could make it through a wasteland for thirty years is ridiculous. Wandering America for thirty years when it 3 to 6 months to cross the continent? This goes right in the bin with the davinci code and the rest of religon. If we could only get people to stop taking fairy tales so seriously the world would be a better place. Why do people need a fiction to teach morals? Say what you mean and mean what you say. There doesn't have to be an invisible man in the sky who controls the universe. Accept that the bible was written by people who didn't know as much as you. People who didn't know to wash their hands after pooping. Relax let go and take responsibility for your own life. Accept that god had nothing to do with it.
