We base our teaching on Sacred Scripture, Tradition, and the Magisterium.

We believe that Sacred Scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit. We don't believe in Sola Scriptura because it is not biblical and a further invention. The Bible doesn't have it all, (John 20:30Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of (his) disciples that are not written in this book.). But Jesus, as he said He would do, sent down the Holy Spirit on us at Pentecost to remind us of His teachings and continue to teach us (Don't know the Bible quote, but it is at the time Jesus was telling His disciples that He must go in order that they might receive the Holy Spirit) Also:

We believe that our Tradition was handed down to us by the Apostles. The Church's teaching has never mutated, but it has organically developed, stemming from the teachings of Christ and the Apostles. 2 Thess 2:15"Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions (paradoseis) that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours."

We believe in the Magisterium (Teaching Authority) of the Church. The Pope, a successor of St. Peter, has the ability to make definite statements with regard to teaching and dogma. In the Bible, St. Peter was always look towards as the human head of the Church, and always looked upon for clarifying teachings and practice. The Pope has the same role.
