well, i did a big project on that at school so if you have a project like me, stay tuned! This is directly from my poster board that i have from that project:
EASTER IN Italy:
Easter in Italy in considered to be the most important feast for the christian catholic tradition and during Easter, Italy becomes the stage for over 3,000 performances! example, Italy preforms a play of the Resurrection of Jesus!
During the Holy Friday night, people crowd the streets with torches that light the streets up. they're prayers and singing going on that night. this is a sign that Easter is getting closer! One of the things children do on Palm Sunday, (one week before Easter) they help their parents make gifts like crosses out of palm and give them to friends and family. the next time palm Sunday comes around, people dispose of the old palm by burning it or berrying it, but never throwing it away.
Finally after coloring eggs, (like Americans do) saying prayers, singing, and performing plays, Easter is finally here! Families gather together to go to church! they eat pasta, roasted lamb, rabbit, and wheat pie which contains dried citrus bits. Children recite poems for their parents and loved ones while everyone sits around the Easter table!
The next day is Easter Monday, which people get the day off of. Easter Monday is called pasquetta-the little Easter. This usually celebrated with a family picnic. What they have have eat is boiled eggs, salami, and wine. They bring blankets with them to take naps after the picnic.
Here is one of their traditions:
Tredozio: On Easter Monday the Palio'Dell Uvuo is a competition when particepents fight to keep their eggs intact while breaking all the others!
i hope this is organized and will seriously be enough for your project or what ever your doing! i noticed that is you pronounce the names of this stuff right, and have pictures to go along with it, youll get a better grade! dont forget to have fun with your project!
