What is the MPG for a 1972 Chevy truck?
I have a 72' Cheyenne custom camper with a 402 engine. It was made before gas mileage was important because of the prices were so low. I get about 13 MPG on it.
Change the differential gear ratio, Swap the transmission for an automatic with overdrive (700R4 or equivalent, Downsize the carburetor, All of which takes money but, I have a 71 C10 4+2 with the 350 cu in engine bolted to a 700R4 transmission which gave me 19 mpg highway, 20 mpg if I held it at 55 mph.
It varies by vehicle� The Chevy Silverago only gets 17mpg while the much lighter Toyota Prius and Honda Civic get 48 mpg The Honda Insight got 65 mpg on their manual model and 55 mpg on their auto� unfortunately, they do not make these cars anymore after 2006.
