Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) believe that higher education is very important and strongly encourage all members to get all the education they can. Mormons are encouraged to attend universities and obtain university degrees, and to make education a lifetime persuit. The Mormon church operates four universities and has a 'Perpetual Education Fund' which funds educational pursuits for members in third-world countries. Mormons believe that "The Glory of God is Intelligence". This does not apply only to religious knowledge, but to academic knowledge as well.
