By boiling the vegetable,it pasteurizes the harmful micro organisms that are in the leaf and also kills some of the chlorophyll..........

The disadvantage is that fresh vegetable is good for the body for it contains more proteins and minerals than boiled one...............

Pro: quick cooking. Timed properly little loss of nutrients. Parboiling works great ie: asparagus, green beans, peas. Con: easily overcooked. Vitamins and nutrients zapped.
