Made 1960-1986. reintroduced by H&R 1871 company in 92-99. Depending on condition, $100-$150.
About 1962. Value depends on condition, but averages about $125-$175 for very good condition.
Your H&R model 949 forty niner is the second model which was made from 1973-1986.With the prefix of BA to your serial number,it was made between 1983-1986.i hope that you find this informative.
The FN 49 was never made in 40 caliber.
Letter prefix 'AA' = 1964, making it a 1st Model (1961-72). The value of your revolver very much depends upon condition, i.e. how much original finish is left, condition of grip and mechanical functioning. In 100% (new in the box) the value is around $250 while in 60% it is around $90.
The model 949 was produced from 1960-1985 in two versions, one is blued and called the 949, the other is color case hardened frame, and called the 949 western. As to value matbe $ 200-250 in excellent condition with box. Prices are really increasing on all H&R handguns in top condition. As to age of your piece I will need the serial # or at least the two letter prefix of serial # to give you a date of manufacture. Hope this helps
