Introduced in 1937 - discontinued in 1947. It was a "low priced single shot designed to appeal to youngsters" From Hatcher - "The Rifle in America"

I've seen them for sale on Cabela's used rifle rack for about $100, but I spent $50 just to get a replacement bolt for my model 56. I love its looks and wouldn't part with it, due to sentimental value. (First gun, gift from grandpa)

Can anyone tell me value of J. P. Stevens Jr. model 11 22 cal. l r ?

In used, very good condition, the value would be about $75-$125

It depends on the model, as the Stevens was made in numerous models, and the values can vary greatly!

i would say between 350 and 600depending on quality of rifle

In good condition $115-$145, I paid $109 for mine

Your Stevens Model 56 was in production from 1934-1945, the Buckhorn version (nicer wood) was towards the end of that run. There is not a high collector demand for these, with the happy result that prices are not unusually high- about $125-$150, depending on condition. In my opinion, excellent hunting grade .22, and very good rifle for young shooters due to the very slender wrist of the stock. Getting repair parts can be a problem due to the age. My collection includes an 056, a 56, and a Buckhorn 56.
