Will the bolt assembly for a modern 22 caliber Glenfield semi-automatic operate properly in a Marlin Model 49 semi-automatic?

The Model 49 (and the 49DL) used the # 507086 bolt assembly, which is the same as the Marlin/Glenfield Model 60 "old style" bolt. These were manufactured before June 1980 when the Model 60 started using the # 507786 bolt assembly. The good news is that there are only minor differences in the two bolt assemblies basically centered around a beveled cut for the bolt hold-open lever. Simply put, you can use new-style bolts in either Model 49 or pre-1980 Model 60's and they will function. We have plenty of old-style bolt assemblies (507086) on hand. sales@countrygunsmith.net

Your Marlin 49DL trigger has hung up The trigger just stopped working and will not release to strike the firing pin The gun is very clean?

tolerances have been degraded between the firing pin fulcrum and the release. examine pivot-point wear and never exclude the small chance that a single grain of dead powder is between the firing pin and the hammer. reproduction of the original hammer-pin isn't rocket science.....make a template of the original, then add a couple of tenths to the new part.....very nice rifle, and an easy gun to repair!

Why would a Marlin Model 49DL not eject the shells?

There are several reasons. If it extracts them, but doesn't eject, it could be the ejector is missing or broken/worn. If it doesn't even extract them, then the extractor is the culprit. Sometimes dirt can get under the extractor, and hold it from capturing the rim of the cartridge, so be sure to thoroughly clean the gun, before replacing any parts!
