With the water nearby, there is the heating and cooling effect along with air masses. During the day, water heats up slowly, and land heats up quickly creating a SEA BREEZE. this happens in reverse during the night, but they are called LAND BREEZES. Sea breezes are cool air masses heading towards the land from the ocean. So yes, closer to the coastline, it will be colder.
