Paper towel is the safest bedding, but most people choose to use calcium sand for their leos.
Calcium sand is a great way to promote impaction and not too many hobbyists recommend using a loose substrate such as sand for this reason.
I personally believe that it is Bark as it allows the corn snake to burrow under and into the ground but 1 i would say defiantly would not think about using is Aspen as it can poison them once it gets stuck to there food and its not very warm either.
Some really good cheap substrates are paper towel or newspaper but if newspaper gets wet it sometimes gives off a toxin that is harmful to them. Some other good ones are tile, repti - carpet, or excavator clay substrate. excavator would be the best because it looks more natural.
ok my ig likes zilla bark or sand but what my ig loves is walnut shells crushed with shredded dry lettus and just a little soil then he can eat it and not get sick other brands can make your ig very sick.
Sand is the leading cause for impaction. Once the animal ingests sand, it can build up in the digestive tracks and the animal won't be able to pass it. Once impacted, most animals will not eat or drink due to the pain and this can lead to death. Most breeders do not reccomend loose substrates for this reason.
Leopard geckos do extremely well on slate tile. This can be purchased from most department stores and even some dollar stores.
Aspen snake bedding is the best bedding for any kind of ball python, do not get sand, it will kill them.
Opinions vary. Some prefer aspen shavings, some prefer coconut, some prefer paper towels, among other choices. It comes down to the individual person. Just no cedar or pine.
Well for my bearded dragon, he sleeps on red sand, he's sleeps there all the time. logs and big branches are also good.

Yes, ball pythons require a moist and humid enclosure. Pine absorbs the moisture and this can increase the chances of your ball python getting a respiratory infection and having a retained shed. Retained shed is where the snake does not shed all of their skin. This can lead to moth rot, tip of the tail falling off, eye caps and much much more. Cyprus Mulch, cellsorb and newspaper are the best beddings for a ball python.

It depends. A normal python usually costs around 50-100 dollars, and a large cage around 90. If you get your ball a large cage (40gal) at the beginning, he won't need another. Food and bedding are not expensive, around $10 a month at the most.
