Aspen or pine shavings are great to use for guinea pig bedding, You can also use corncob or pelleted litter, made from newspaper, these are also absorbent but may be hard on your guinea pigs feet as they have very sensative feet. You cannot use Cedar shavings because they are too toxic smelling for your guinea pigs authough they may smell nice to you.
cool grass
Grass, soil, peat etc. aren't the best bedding for rabbits because they're pretty messy. Also, it could have fertiliser or other poisonous chemicals on it.
Rabbits litter-train pretty easily. Litter-training your bunny is cleaner than just putting bedding down all over the cage.
Possible bedding/litter material for rabbits includes:
Only use materials that are safe for the rabbit to eat, because bunnies often nibble a bit on their litter. Do not use clay cat litter: it will clump in the digestion and cause fatal impaction. Do not use wheat or corn-based litters because they're not healthy: they can lead to obesity, general ill-health, or even deadly GI stasis.
Carefresh, pads, and pine bedding are popular choices.
However, do NOT use cedar!
carefresh bedding is the best for them so they can use it to tunnel in and it is not harmful to their body the y can also shred it
Aspen, ceder and pine are harmful
Grass, cotton fibers, alfalfa, and straw (bedding straw for animals).
Do not use pine, or especially Cedar! It will kill your hedgehog! The chemicals in the dust from pine and cedar, will kill hedgehogs.
Hay, you can use rabbit bedding (hay) it only costs £3 for a big bag, thats what i use for my chinchilla
We use alpine shavings.
usually they stay in their bedding box. they will keep warm in there.
Consider putting a vinyl cover on the mattress and/or an additional "leak pad" under the baby on top of the bedding.
First of all, you should have a paper lining underneath the bedding like newspaper or hard paper of some sort and the bedding on top. To get rid of the bedding, all you have to do is fold the newspaper like a taco. Then dispose of it properly. You should never have newspaper in your rabbit's cage for any reason. The newspaper print is poisonous if eaten.
It is pregnant, give the rabbit extra bedding where she has made her nest, be expecting up to 10 babies.
Yes, it is ok. But the best bedding for a rabbit is aspen or cutter shavings, because the absorption of paper isn't great.
The wound must be kept clean, so donβt use any loose bedding like woodchip, Care fresh or straw, just use newspaper or vet bed. Vet bed is great because the urine will soak down to the bottom, meaning your rabbit wonβt be lying on soiled bedding. A few days before the operation, keep a close eye on the amount your rabbit is eating
This could be your bunny making a nest! When a rabbit is making a nest you will often see her running about with a mouthful of bedding, or dragging bedding from one section of the cage/room to another. If she is not pregnant, she may be having a phantom pregnancy... Now is the time to have her spayed! Sometimes rabbits will just choose to rearrange their homes, even male rabbits will occasionally do this.
"Woolrich bedding is a brand name, while ""traditional bedding"" implies any type of general bedding. One cannot compare a brand with everything else that might exist out there. Specific brand names are often higher quality than no-name generic brands, though, so it is quite possible that Woolrich bedding is of good quality."
Burrows if outside in wild and a bed of rabbit bedding for a pet bunny
in my experience, care fresh bedding is THE BEST bedding for ANY type of small animal. so ,yes. But one thing, never use anything other than aspen, it is not good for hamsters.
Ebay, or your local pet store. Rabbit bedding is also very similar to guinea pig bedding and can be used as an alternative if required. You can also make your own guinea pig bedding out of a small cage, some hay/straw and a small circular pillow.
If you are allergic to the wood bedding (the only type you should buy is Aspen) then try a brand called Carefresh. If THAT doesn't work you can buy a type of bedding made from cardboard on the internet.
