A really simple synth is the Micro Korg, it has easy controls and does most of the work for you, all available at a cheap price. Another fairly simple but a little more advanced is a Roland Juno Di, I had that as my secong synth which you have a lot more freedom with, many more keys and octaves and 1000's of settings.

∙ 15y agoThe best synthesizer to start with is any software synthesizer (softsynth), which can be standalone or as a part of a multitrack program. The adventage of softsynth is operability and flexibility and it can be helpfull for improve your basic synthesis skills.

∙ 11y agoKorgMS2000 is a good beginner synthesizer model, easy to work and can be found at good prices. Casio-CZ-100 also is another good model for beginners. Some are better than other ones.
