I USE GASTRO GTX 10W30. USE LESS WEIGHT DURING WINTER MONTHS BECAUSE OIL GETS COLD AND THICKER, THUS MAKING IT HARDER ON ENGINE. WHAT MY DAD TAUGHT.

yes you can drive it without thermostat the only thing is before winter you will want to replace it or your heater will not work ( also the engine will take longer to warm up , the gas mileage will suffer , the check engine light will probably come on etc . )
