Use a straight 30wt oil of your choice. It does depend on if it is the old flat head valve engines, or the new over-head valve engines, which is because of the new EPA laws....all flat heads use 30 hd... the over-head valve engines 10-w30, although prefrence is your own, Briggs & Strattons oil is actually Mobil 1, ( I seen that when I toured Briggs & Strattons factory while working for Central Distributors of Briggs.) Briggs & Stratton recommends the use of SAE 30w detegent oil with an automotive rating of "SJ" or higher when ambient air temperatures are 40 degrees or higher. Under 40 degrees it is acceptable to use a 10w-30 or 5w-30 depending on the weather, but air cooled engines run hotter than liquid cooled so check and change oil frequently. It is also acceptable to use a SYNTHETIC 5w-30 oil year round, but the oil must be changed as often as regular engine oil.

Originally from when Briggs & Stratton started business in 1919, the engine's were built in Milwaukee Wisconsin to 1985 and well into the 1990's. Recently great production is very little from were Briggs & Stratton was originally started. These day's there is great activity of Briggs & Stratton parts from China/Japan and Briggs & Stratton engine blocks being casted in Mexico. Truley a great devistation to a once GREAT engine. Which is why alot of people like myself will no longer recommend a Briggs & Stratton engine. Today your best bet is Kohler (still U.S. produced), Kawasaki or Honda.

Briggs and Stratton is a select brand of lawn mower. When oiling one's Briggs and Stratton lawn mower engine, it is best to use a high quality oil. One can find such an oil at their local home improvement store, such as Home Depot.

official site for Briggs and Stratton Spark Plugs is: http://www.briggsandstratton.com/maint_repair/routine_maintenance/choosing_spark_plugs/ The proper spark plug will depend on the type of 6.5 HP motor that you have. Briggs and Stratton made several different ones and the best way to get the proper plug will be to call an authorized Briggs and Stratton repair shop with the mower make and model numbers.

I would recomend a Briggs & Stratton Vanguard 13 hp.

The correct gap for the spark plug of a Briggs and Stratton 6.75 Lawnmower engine 0.030. Most new plugs come with that gap, but it is best to check to make sure.

To do a carburetor adjustment on a Briggs and Stratton lawn tractor engine, one might look in to their user manual. The best way for this to be done would be to take it to a lawn mower store and have it professionally done.

The best brands of riding lawn mowers are those of companies such as John Deere and Briggs and Stratton depending on the quality.

Absolutely not. Briggs & Stratton recommends you use nothing heavier than SAE 30 weight oil. Briggs says that SAE 5w30 Full Synthetic provides the best protection, easy starting, and less oil combustion in all temperatures. That is exactly what I would use.

User Avatar

Briggs and Stratton recommends Synthetic 5W-30 for the best protection at all temperatures. This weight gives better starting with less oil consumption. During winter months, when temperatures dip below 40 degrees, 5W-30 is recommended.

Carburetors are a great expense and it is always best money can buy. There are many companies that makes great carburetors but one is recognized as being the best. This company is Briggs and Stratton.

Generac, Briggs & Stratton, and Honda are all excellent generator companies. It's best to determine your needs, then decide on the size/model of generator.

Reliable brands for an emergency generator include Kohler, Briggs & Stratton, and Coleman. The best thing to do would be to research what you need and to go from there.

10w30 Synthetic oil is what is best for any air cooled engine. You can also use straight 30w.

User Avatar

The best brand can be debated, but most reviewers give the Troy Built gas powered TBE515 rave reviews. You can also purchase a battery or electric edger, or simply see if your current string trimmer can accept an edger attachment.

u use olive oil What, too good for Canola? Nothing beats SAE 30 straight weight. Detergent is OK. Briggs & Stratton 5w-30 synthetic is the best, but pricey. Try not to use regular 5w-30 or 10w30, they can't handle high temps as well. That will void your warranty. Change every 50 hours.

The best thing to do is to go to www.fram.com they have a cross reference guide and worst case is you can send them an email asking and they will get back to you.

The brand new snow blowers I think are all made by Frontier? That's my best guess. The current line of Snow Throwers from John Deere are made by Briggs and Stratton. Parts for these machines carry Briggs parts prefixes in the John Deere Parts books.

5w-30 is best to use but yes you can use 10w -30. Any w30 oil will work but 5w30 is recommended

Depends on where you sit, what you weigh, weight of gear, dog, wife, etc. But probably. Mine puts me up quick, I have a 8 ft. alumicraft with a 5 hp Briggs camo outboard. It's all about where you sit i find right in the middle is best.

John Deer makes a top quality snow blower. Yes, the ones that I have used work quite well. But John Deere snow blowers are now built by Briggs and Stratton, who also builds Simplicity and Snapper , just to name a few. They also took over Murray after they went out of business so, all of the Briggs and Stratton built machines are the same , with features that come from these various machines , except their color. If you like green .........

Briggs & Stratton recommends high quality detergent straight 30 weight but this can result in hard starting and may damage the engine at colder (below 40 F) temps. Multi-viscosity standard automotive oils (5w-30, 10w-30, etc.) are acceptable but will result in very high oil consumption at ambient temperatures over 40 F, and may void your warranty. High quality synthetic multi-viscosity oils are best for all temperatures.

First you must determine the amount you want to keep on. Typically you want to have the important things such as fridge and lights and phone to work. Briggs & Stratton KW Home Generator System - 40303B as this is a durable for all weather.
