Hay should be the main part of a Guinea pig's diet and they should eat a ball of hay the size of their body each day per guinea pig. Timothy or meadow hay is best. Alfalfa is too rich for most guinea pigs. Give a cup of fresh vegetables each day. These could include peppers, lettuce (butterhead or Romaine), celery, cucumber, carrot tops (not whole carrots as these are too high in sugar), corn on the cob, dark leafy greens and herbs. An egg cup of good quality pellets per guinea pig should be given each day along with everything else. Muesli is not recommended as guinea pigs will waste the bits they dislike resulting in an unbalanced diet.
do not bath your guinea pigs ever! only bath them with special washing shampoo from wilkinsons, even if you get that its only if your guinea pigs are really dirty. It will have writing on the back to read or get special shampoo from ebay or a pets shop.
