If Diarrhea occurs without pain, vomiting, fever or blood in the movement, here's what to do:
1. Eat NOTHING for up to 24
2. If thirsty, chew on ice cubes or chrushed ice, take frequent sips of water, weak tea, Ginger Ale or clear broth. You may need to stay on clear liquids for 24-28 hours.
3. Once you bring diarrhea under control, gradually start on foods like salted crackers, dry or melba toast, Gelatin desserts, mashed or baked potato, white rice, cooked or dry rice cereals, jellied consomme. Later you can add a soft-boiled or poached egg, cooked carrots or peas, a thin slice of white meat chicken or turkey. If diarrhea recurs with loss of appetite or nausea after any of these foods, stop taking food or liquids for four to six hours and gradually go back to clear liquids and foods listed above.
4. Don't take any raw fruits or vegetables, coffee, spices (other than salt) or rich, fatty or fried foods.
