You should Only use a micro-fiber cloth with water or a solution that is formulated for screen cleaning to clean any TV, Monitor, or laptop screen. All HDTVs have an anti-glare coating on the screen. Any other type of cloth will leave very small scrathes on the TV. You won't notice these the first time you clean the screen but after repeated cleaning you will notice them when watching TV. Also, do not use any household cleaners on your Screens. The chemicals in them wil ruin your anti-glare coating as well as degrade the glues use to adhere your screen to your TV casing. I recommend and use a "Monster Screen Clean Kit" on all of my TVs and screens. You can get one for about $25 to $30 at any Circuit City or Best Buy store. The spray bottle of solution that comes in the kit with the micro-fiber cloth will last you a few years. I clean a 65 inch TV, a 42 inch TV, a 32 inch TV, 2 Computer Monitors and 3 laptops routinely. My bottle is over a year old and is only about 1/3 empty.

Windex.

AnswerScreen wipes, from computer stores and electric shops.

The outer portion of an LCD may be some type of optical coating so it is best not to use any solvents on it other than soap and water. Use a soft cloth and a dilute solution of soapy water. Finish with a clean, dry and soft cloth and you need not worry about damaging your screen.

Take a lint free cloth. Spray or drip some rubbing alcohol on the cloth, or if the screen is not so dirty make a mix of 50 % distilled water and 50 % rubbing alcohol. Gently wipe the screen. Repeat if necessary.

I have a Samsung 50" plasma 1080p, and it came with a cleaning cloth, and the following instructions:

To clean your Plasma TV, gently wipe the surface with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. You should never use alcohol, cleaning fluids, wax, or chemicals. Also, do not use water unless otherwise directed.

Furthermore:

To clean fingerprints and greasy smudges off your TV screen, first try using a dry, anti-static cloth and rubbing gently.

Note: Many Samsung TVs come with a screen cleaning cloth. Use that cloth and follow the directions on the package.

If that does not work, get a bottle of ScreenClean screen cleaning solution or similar screen cleaner. You should be able to get it at most regular and on-line stores that sell monitors or TVs. Put a small amount of ScreenClean on a clean, soft, dry cloth, and then rub the screen gently.

WARNING: Never use any type of window cleaner, soap, scouring powder, or any cleanser with solvents such as alcohol, benzene, ammonia, or paint thinner. Never use abrasive pads or paper towels. If you do, you can scratch the screen or strip the anti-glare coating off the screen and cause permanent damage.

Cleaning It Right

There are four steps you must take to do the job right:

* Unplug your TV before you begin to eliminate the risk of electric shock.

* If you use ScreenClean or a similar screen cleaner, put or spray the ScreenClean onto the cloth. Never put or spray it directly onto your TV screen.

* Wipe as gently as possible. LCD, Plasma, and DLP screens in particular are fragile and can be damaged if you press too hard.

* Let the screen dry completely before you plug the TV back in.

Good Luck

There are differing opinions on this subject! Some people feel use a glass cleaner such as Windex would be fine while others discourage it. Most modern HDTVs have special coatings that can be ruined by using strong cleansers.

Here's are some tips from various manufacturers:

- Use only dry cloths that are soft or microfiber cloths. Using harder cloths or cloths with lint could scratch the surface of the screen.

- Do spray water or others liquid directly to the screen. They could drip and enter the interior parts of TV. This could cause failure in the product.

-Do not use chemically pretreated cloths.

- If using a dry cloth doesn't work try a tiny bit of dish soap in water. This should work. Again don'y apply it it directly to the screen.

To clean the screen simply use a light cleaner and a towel. Do not use anything hard and don't let any water drip down into the TV.
