You both need to sit down and write down what the pro's and con's for both of you are in your prospective wants. If you own the house, I wouldn't want to move to an apartment either, that's wasting money. If you don't own the house and the rent is cheaper then that could be feasible. Who does the housework, is the house big? Who does the yard work, in an apt. the maintanence is done for you? Do you have a pool, if not, in alot of apt. complexes there is a pool, etc. I live in Florida and there are new communities being built called patio homes. They are normally one floor but connected to one another and have amenities for the residents, no not an old folks community. You don't have the upkeep in an apt. that you do in a house, you have a personal plumber and all around maintenance guy. I think this depends heavily on where you live and the proximity to your jobs and family, too. Good luck.
