You can typically install the subwoofer in the trunk of your car, and position it accordingly to get the sound you want. You can direct it towards the interior of the seat but do not keep it too close to the seat as you might damage the subwoofer. That is usually the whole point of a Subwoofer, hearing the music clearer and feeling it. If you don't like the thump, then a subwoofer is not for you! The best way to fix this problem is first you have to remove all the wires from the subwoofer. Than take the subwoofer out of the box and set the subwoofer in a trash can. On trash day wheel subwoofer to end of driveway. Problem solved!
Hard for home mechanic to do. You can mess up your timing just changing it. Best for this vehicle to go to the shop. Talked to 2 mechanics that I trust about doing it myself and both said, knowing my abilities to fix cars, that I'd best leave it to them. Just got my girlfriends water pump on her '94 Sunbird LE 2 liter replaced and after all the research I did I'm glad I…
Installing "replacement" subwoofers can be very costly, Factory Cadillac subwoofers are indeed very tricky. You must first purchace the proper sub, then install it as you would any other subwoofer. Your best bet would be to install an aftermarket sub and amp due to the costly BOSE system. If you choose this route you may also need to purchace a RCA adapter, and a factory amplifier bypass harness.
It is very difficult to manually raise the roof. The top system is hydrolic. I once asked if I can convert it to a manual roof and I was told no way because of the hydrolic system. Sorry for the bad news, but the best thing to do is to figure out what the problem is. If it is the motor you can by pass it with a switch. Darren 1992 sunbird conv owner If…
Best way to fix it is to replace it. I had not the correct tool or even knew what the correct tool is and took the car to a shop to replace the Timing belt and Water pump. The shop folk replaced my supplied Drivebelt Tensioner at no additional charge since as they said "We're gonna be in the area anyways".
