That depends on which dictionary you look at. There is a word that's 1913 letters long, but it's a scientific/medical term, which you will find in 1970's editions of the Guinness Book of Records. Newer edtions tend to omit entries like this. There are some words that feature in dictionaries that are around 40 letters long.

There was a medical term that was about 207,000 letters long, but I haven't seen it yet.
