i am going to presume you mean 'a star.' i do not know what star you are refering to.

the sun is an average sized star. the moon is way smaller. earth is way smaller. there are stars bigger and smaller than the sun.

Yes the Sun is bigger than the moon. P.S. The sun can fit 1,000,000 earths inside and thats just an "average" sized star!

The moon is tiny. The earth is about 3 times bigger across than the moon.

The sun is an average sized star. It's about 110 times bigger across than the earth. =

There are many stars smaller than the sun, and many stars bigger than the sun. The sun and all stars are bigger than the moon.

No. Stars range in size from neutron stars, which vary anywhere from 20 to 40 km in diameter, to supergiants like Betelgeuse in the Orion constellation, which has a diameter approximately 650 times larger than the Sun-about 0.9 billion kilometres.

Generally the Sun is classified as our Sun - so there is only one Sun.

However, some people would like to define the Sun as any star that a planet revolves around. For that - we are still observing.

See related question for the biggest star in our Galaxy.

The sun IS a star. The diameter of its visible disk is about 864,000 miles. There are

a huge number of stars smaller than the sun, and a huge number of larger ones.

Yes, pretty much so. The Sun is a little larger than the "average" visible star, but not by a whole lot.

However, stellar theory proposes that there may be a large number of "red dwarf" or even smaller "brown dwarf" stars which are very dim, and including all of these very tiny stars may push the "average" fairly low. This might put the Sun in the top third of all stars.

It is worth noting that the closest star to the Sun is the red dwarf Proxima Centauri, which is so dim that it cannot be seen without a telescope. Distant red dwarf stars may be essentially invisible, even from the Hubble Space Telescope.

That is because if the Sun isn't brighter and bigger, the light of the sun won't even reach Neptune or some other extrasolar planets. But there is a star named Sirius which can replace the sun if it was bigger. It is bright enough to produce light to all the planets which need to get light, so the statement that says that the Sun is brighter than all stars is untrue.

It is impossible to be sure of the largest star in the universe as the universe is extremely huge with billions of galaxies. Our present day telescopes can barely resolve stars in the nearest galaxy. The largest known star in our galaxy, however, is VY Canis Majoris, a red hypergiant star. It is 400 times larger than our sun and 4-million times as bright. VY Canis Majoris is some 2,000 times the radius of the sun, which approaches the theoretical largest diameter any star can attain of 2,600 times the diameter of the sun.
For comparison, if our Sun were to be replaced with this star, it's radius would reach out further than the orbit of Saturn.

The problem here is defining - What is a normal star.

All stars have some differences.

The definition of "normal star" is: Normal stars are usually defined as those having standard amounts of each atomic element.

In this case, it is referring to the metallicity of the star. As our Sun is a population I star with high metallicity our Sun is classed as a normal star.

Asteroids can have a size anywhere between about ten meters (by definition; anything smaller would be called a meteorite), and hundreds of kilometers. Comets have sizes somewhere in between, typically a few kilometers; so, the largest asteroids are LARGER than comets, while the smallest are SMALLER than comets.
