It is the drain for air conditioning condensation. I was going to say heater core drain for when it springs a leak or [goes bad]. Is there two of these hoses in different locations or dose one serve both purposes?

Unfortunately, the easiest way to change the hose (firewall connections) is from under the car. If your Achieva has the dual hose with the black valve across both lines, make sure you go to the dealer for the replacement. It's important for proper operation. Replacing with regular heater hose will cause problems down the road.

There are two little black circle things, right above the licence plate, that turn and then they will drop down. Once you do that you'll see. I don't know what things are called, but I did just do this and it was easy.

Looking at the engine from the front, look on the left side. You should see the evaporator sticking out of the firewall. There is a round tall thing in front of that with a hose that runs to the front of the car. It sticks out of that black tall thing on the hose.
