Hydrochloric acid + Sodium hydroxide = Sodium chloride + water

HCl + NaOH = NaCl + water

when these two react with each other, it forms salt and water as one of them is a base and the other is an acid. When a base and acid react, they form their respective salt and water.

hope i cleared your doubt.

Thank you.

HCl (l) + NaOH (l) --> H2O (l) + NaCl (aq)

The NaCl is essentially salt and so I placed the (aq) or aqueous symbol behind it because it remains disassociated within the water as the final yield, unless crystallized out.
