Romantic Age
Wordsworth is often viewed as a "reactionary child of age" because his poetry focused on nature, emotion, and the individual, which contrasted with the prevailing conventions of the time. He rejected the artificiality and restrictions of the neoclassical poetry of the 18th century and instead celebrated the spontaneous expression of human experience. This emphasis on personal emotion and connection with nature marked him as a visionary and revolutionary figure in the Romantic movement.

English literature is typically divided into different periods or ages. The common division includes the Old English (Anglo-Saxon) period, the Middle English period, the Renaissance period, the Neoclassical period, the Romantic period, the Victorian period, the Modernist period, and the Postmodern period. This division helps to categorize literary works based on the time in which they were written and the characteristics of the writing during those periods.
Neoclassical literature is literature that was prevalent in the age of Neoclassicism. Neoclassicism is a name given to the movements in decorative art, literature, music, theater, and architecture; these movements were mainly dominant in the mid eighteenth to the end of the nineteenth century. Works in the Neoclassical movements are considered today as "the classics." These works include Antonio Canova's Psyche Revived by Love's Kiss and Andrea Appiani's Laure De Guesnon De Bonneuil.Romantic literature was the new writing "style" that rose from the ashes of the Age of Reason. Romantic literature was a style of writing that was based upon the foundation of the individual self rather than that of society as a whole, a sort of individualism as it was commonly called. Fantasy, science-fiction, and supernatural literature were brought about in the age of Romanticism. Gothic literature was a product of Romanticism. Writers of the romantic and Gothic literature include Edgar Allen Poe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Washington Irving, and Henry David Thoreau.
the difference is that a romantic poem will be about love towards people while classical will be more old fashioned and be about other things!!! romantic poems are more towards people in love and great to be read whilst in deep love with another person. idiot... do not listen to that at all.... The romantic era was not about love at all. In fact it had nothing to do with romance of the conventional kind. It was imaginative and more related to democracy and nature than anything else. Had relations to human life, and was highly philosophical. It was most definitely not about love. The Classical age on the other hand was the complete opposite to the romantic age in some respects. It had no real interest in nature as it exists naturally. Satire and realism was present, as well as a strong union with politics. It was highly critical, unimaginative and intellectual as opposed to the spontaneity of the romantic age.
No. The Neoclassical Age began at the start of the 18th century. Donne was of the Metaphysical School ( he started it) and wrote from the 1590s to 1630s.
