So the effect on Earth's surface life due to a larger "ozone hole" is negligible. What makes the ozone larger is global ozone depletion, and that does have important consequence. ∙ 9y agoThere is no concern. We want the ozone layer thicker than at present. The ozone layer blocks dangerous ultraviolet radiation the causes skin cancers in humans and damages crops. Scientists hope the ozone layer will be completely restored by 2050.
