Being a novel and rather a big one 'The Hobbit' has several plots and minor plots. However the most important one could be # 'Daring Enterprise' - as the Dwarves try to retake their ancient kingdom # 'Escaping' - as Bilbo Baggins talks with Smaug after being caught trying to loot more treasure. As Bilbo's proper Baggin's side contends with his adventurous Tookish side, he learns to love elves and mountains and adventure, and as a result loses respect in the proper hobbit community (aside from the other Tooks, of course)
The overall basis is that Sherlock is working to bring down occult practitioner Lord Blackwood whom is concocting a plan to overthrow the English government, and has plans of world domination. Watson is engaged to a woman, and is leaving the practice, but he along with Sherlock's old love interest help to bring down Lord Blackwood and save the day. A good film overall.
