I use 10w 30 and my 88' Honda accord runs great

AnswerAs with any aging car, the older it gets the more leaks itacquires, as lines age and crack and contact points get worn, there are more points to have seep and leak.

In a new car that has not the life experiences that an '88 Honda does it would be fine to run a thiner oil like a 5W30, but as you do have a vintage Honda i would agree with the post above and run a thicker oil such as a 10W30, may be even with an additive such as "XM-5" oil stabilizer, to help with the worn parts and prevent some small seepage and minor leaks.
