The first of November is a bank holiday in France. It is traditional for families to go to the cemeteries and bring some flowers on the tombs of their loved ones. There is no other celebrations and the Halloween stuff didn't catch in France (despite commercial efforts)

Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated in several countries, including the United States. In USA Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November, so the date in France would be the same.

The French people, however, do not celebrate an official 'Thanksgiving'.
