The 66 inch deck belt fits Murray 42 inch and 46 inch models 425303X92A, 425303X92B, 465305X92A, 465305X92B. The width is 11/16 inches. This belt size replaces Murray part numbers 37X112, 37X112MA.
Remove the deck. First by pulling the pins that attach the lift brackets, and then remove the rear spring, and the 2 belt guides under the engine for the belt that drives the deck (1/4" socket). After the deck is out, release the spring that applies tention on the right idler pulley (you'll have to remove the 2 side pulley covers).
I have Murray 42" cut riding mower that the belt came off. How do I put the belt back on?
I changed the blade belt on my Murray mower. Now one blade stops and goes. If I lower the deck the blade stop . What did I do wrong?
84 inch
The belt is too loose. Replace it or adjust the idler.
The 40 and 42 are virtually the same(except the old three blade 42) and can be viewed at the link below.
It could be a bunch of different things. 1) A belt that is going bad. 2) A pulley that is bent. 3) A blade that is bent. 4) A spindle or spindle bearing that is bad. That's the most common things

The idler pulley is located just in front of and to the left of the right-side mower pulley. It's mounted on a bracket which has a long spring attached from it to the front of the mower deck. You can see a good diagram of this at www.partsandservice.com/html/Murray/lt/lt42910x92a.html and click on "mower housing". The belt is Murray part # 37X75 which translates to 1/2" wide by 91.25" around. Any larger mower shop would have this or an aftermarket equivilant.
