# What is the definition of diameter?

## Answer

###### Wiki User

###### 01/20/2011

The diameter of a circle is the length of any line segment drawn
through the center of the circle and having endpoints on the line
that defines the circumference of the circle. It can also be
defined as twice the radius of the circle, with a radius being a
line segment with an endpoint at the center of the circle and one
on the circumference of the circle.

Diameter is a length measurement
