Technical education is geared much more heavily on book,s manuals, information ect... Vocational training is much more of a "hands on" learning proccess that is focused on aquisision of skills as well as knowledge. Unless, of course, you are refering to "Technical Education" as in the technology field, in which case a Technical Education would be learning about any one or several of the many different branches of the "Technical Field" ie computers, electronics, communications, ect.....

Vocational and technical education do not focus on theory but instead on passing on direct skills and practical knowledge.

Vocational Education approaches learning from a practical, hands-on perspective. One learns a skill by doing it, rather than reading about it or hearing about it. All people learn by a combination of seeing, hearing and practicing. Some use one facility more than another. But all practical skills are usually acquired with a large element of practice.

Think about modern science. We use a lot of lab practice. Even in language, we practice writing, speaking and persuading. Of all the academic subjects, only History cannot be done. Since all history, by definition, is in the past, and far enough in the past to begin to understand what relevance it has to current events or practices or beliefs. Political science is the study of events and practices in use currently. Think back to 10 years ago. There were all kinds of news stories that are well forgotten now. They simply were dead-ends of developments. Those events appear to have had little long term impact on most lives.

But almost all other subjects can be taught using practical experience. And those that relate directly or indirectly to activities for which people get paid are "vocational." If someone is willing to pay for it, it is a job.

Vocational Aim:

Knowledge aim of education is narrow by nature. The theoretical knowledge will never meet our basic needs of life. We need bread and butter to fill up our belly. We can get it if education is vocationalised. Gandhiji realized it in 1937 when he introduced Basic Education. Vocational aim develops the social efficiency of the individual. It reduces mental tension after completion of education. Those who are lower, intelligence in vocational education or training are a blessing for them. Realizing this aspect. Indian Education Commission (1964-66) introduces work-experience in the curriculum.
