== == The Intel® 915G Express chipset, designed for the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor supporting Hyper-Threading Technology† in the LGA775 package, delivers a decade's worth of innovation:
PCI Express* buses can deliver over 3.5 times more bandwidth for I/O and graphics cards than PCI and AGP 8X respectively1.
Graphics flexibility, with support for the built-in Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 900 and for PCI Express graphics cards
Flexible memory support for dual channel DDR2 533 memory and dua-channel DDR memory
The Intel® 865G chipset, designed for the Intel® Pentium® D processor (compatible with the lead free version of Intel® 865G Chipsets supporting socket LGA775) and the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor supporting Hyper-Threading Technology†, is a highly flexible and scalable solution that meets a broad range of demanding computing needs. The 865G chipset offers solid performance through a variety of exciting features, including dual-channel DDR 400 main memory, an 800 MHz system bus, and an integrated graphics controller with Intel® Extreme Graphics 2 technology.
Basicly, it isn't much diffrent, it just supports another type of processor. the 845 chipset support FSB 400 and FSB 533, and also support ICH 4 and DDR1 RAM only, however 945 chipset support FSB 533, 667 and 800 with ICH 7 and DDR2 RAM. A 478 socket with 533 FSB processor can be used in both 845 and 945 chipset motherboard with 478 pin socket installed. the processor will give more performance in later motherboard
845 and 865 motheboard support ddr1 ram and 915 nad 945 motherboard support ddr2 ram
The difference is that GeForce is a chipset for graphic cards and nForce2 is a chipset for motherboards ;-)
Discreet refers to a separate GPU chipset, example: ati/nvidia, while UMA is the Intel integrated graphics controller.
host controller
"845G" is a chipset, not a processor. The chipset is actually a part of the motherboard, and should be advertised in it's specs.
1. * Q06: How can I tell if my motherboard supports Ultra DMA? A06: Pentium motherboards that have the Intel TX Chipset, Pentium II motherboards starting with the Intel LX, BX and subsequent Intel Chipsets have UDMA capability. The chipset is displayed on system startup, which is called CMOS Setup. If unsure, consult system or motherboard documentation or manufacturer for chipset and UDMA performance verification.
No, it should work fine, an nVidia chipset is just the motherboards chipset, an ATi, SiS or Matrox card should work just fine. If you need any more help email me.
All i810 motherboards support up to 127 GB hard drives. A few may have BIOS updates to allow for LBA48 operation, allowing even larger drives.
You have not stated your motherboard model correctly. Some motherboards from mercury with the 845GL chipset support AGP, and some do not.

The motherboard is a circuit board that the chipset plugs into or is soldered into. Along with hundreds of other components on a motherboard, it is the part that actually does the computing in a computer.
The single biggest difference is the chipset. Apple uses a Motorola chipset, Dell uses Intel (or Intel based) chipset.
Intel. nVidia. SIS. ATI, VIA and Ali used to make chipsets for intel, but have all stopped for various reasons.
