Well for one Grendels mother was not an attractive woman, she was a monster like Grendel. Beowulf never slept with Grendels mother, and the dragon he fights in the end of the movie is not his son its a random dragon that he fights after returning home to Geatland to be crowned king.

Beowulf is the epitome of an epic hero in the poem. In the movie Beowulf is a lying, adulterous, and cruddy excuse for a hero.

some similarities: the clothes the drinking and merrymaking in the mead hall that there were battles between Beowulf grendal and the mom (even though they were not the same fight scenes as the poem) how Beowulf fought grendal with no sword or armor Beowulf's arrogance the swimming race between Beowulf and that other guy unferth trying to put down Beowulf when he first arrives how unferth offers Beowulf his sword those are a few that i can think of off the top of my head hope this helps!!!
Depends on what movie, book, and poem. Poem: He doesn't have a father; Book: A mysterious troll; Movie: King Hrothgar.

The literature in BEOWULF and the movie entitled BEOWULF have two purposes. To catch the attention of the reader for the literature as very creative on how they interpret the physical appearance of the characters into their mind and to give interest between the two fight scenes,Beowulf and Grendel in the movie. Beowulf's literature has made the context completely detailed and the movie as well. The essence of the literature and the movie implie that war is the way of life before. Warriors have to fight many times because they are the most important of human beings in a place. Greedy of Grendel exists as Beowulf becomes hero.
Readers can easily tell that Beowulf is an epic poem because of the rhyming patterns. The rhyme indicates that Beowulf is a poem, and the length indicates that it is an epic poem.
Depending on which Beowulf you are referring to, in the poem, Beowulf does indeed kill Grendel's mother. In the movie however, Beowulf is pulled in by lust and instead of killing Grendel's mother, sleeps with her instead.

There were quite a few similarites. For one Beowulf arrives in Denmark the same way in the book and movie; being questioned by Hrothgar's luitenit. Secondly, Beowulf does defeat Grendel in both movie and book; although in different ways it still happens, none the less.

AnswerI read the epic poem and saw the movie. The movie stays pretty close to the movie except for two main points. Warning, these are spoilers. In the book Beowulf goes back to (the land of the Geat's) Geatland to become king of his uncles kingdom. In the movie he stays in (the land of the Danes) Denmark and becomes king of Hrothgar's kingdom. In the poem Beowulf kills Grendel's mom. In the movie they make love and have a human beast like creature son (a dragon as a son). Although, in the film Beowulf returns and says he kills her so I guess one could argue it stays in line with the poem that way. In the book she could be still alive and they do the same thing but it doesn't say so we will never know. Also the in the poem there is a larger social backdrop of this type of society that wants peace and stability but that is at odds with a heroic culture of honor and revenge. In the movie they only touch on that very briefly when Beowulf comments on that the age of heroes is giving way to Christianity.
