What is the difference between Coke Zero and Diet Coke?
In Coke Zero
Coke Zero is sweetened with a combination of aspartame and acesulfame potassium (Ace-K). Coke Zero is the same basic formula as classic Coke while Diet Coke is a different formula completely. Diet Coke is sweetened with aspartame only. There are unsubstantiated theories (at least by Coca Cola) that the unsuccessful release of Coke Two or new Coke was actually the formula for Diet Coke, just sweetened with the classic sugar combination.
Also, Coke Zero has 0.5 Calories per 100ml while Diet Coke, oddly enough, still contains one Calorie.
One other rationale for the Coca Cola release of Coke Zero is that men are reluctant to buy diet coke because of the association with dieting and women. Much of the marketing of Coke Zero in the US is directed toward men and activities often associated with masculinity.
On a side note, in many European countries and pan American/south American countries, Diet Coke is released as Coca Cola Light.= In any case, both Aspartame and Acesulfame are extremely toxic to the human body, which is why in spite of the ludicrous 'urban legend' claim, many food manufacturers now actually write on their products: 'Does not contain Aspartame'.

Diet Coke is a soft drink manufactured by various distributors based on a concentrated syrup manufactured by the Atlanta, GA company The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE: KO); Soft drinks are so named because they do not contain 'Hard Liquor', and are generally non-alcoholic. Diet Coke is the counterpart …to the Coca-Cola Company's flagship cola product, Coca-Cola (now called Coca-Cola Classic after an unpopular attempt to release an improved flavor known as 'New Coke' in the late 1980s), originally invented by pharmacist John Stith Pemberton in 1886. Diet Coke is so named because it is an artificially sweetened, low calorie beverage, on average containing less than one calorie per 8 fl. oz. serving. It generally follows a somewhat different formula and taste pattern than Coca-Cola classic; it is regarded internally to be a different flavor. Coke Zero is another such product of The Coca-Cola Company, purported to taste more like Coca-Cola Classic than Diet Coke does; like Diet Coke, Coke Zero employs artificial sweeteners to drop the average calorie count to less than one per 8 fl. oz. Since this is in Dental Health: Diet Coke, like many cola beverages, contains several substances known to have a detrimental impact on dental health, such as citric acid, phosphoric acid, and caramel coloring, although this is not a complete list. In General health terms, most carbonated soft drinks are noted for their high sodium content, and for generally having few health benefits. In 2007, The Coca-Cola Company introduced Diet Coke Plus, which contains additional nutrients such as Niacin, B6, B12, Zinc and Magnesium; nevertheless, the United States Food and Drug Administration cautions that carbonated soft drinks are considered "Snack Foods," and should not be considered diet supplements. Pet coke is a carbonaceous solid derived from oil refinery crackingprocesses. Marketable coke is coke that is relatively pure carbonand can be sold for use as fuel, in the manufacture of dry cells, electrodes, etc. Needle coke, also called acicular coke, is ahighly crystalline petroleum coke used in …the production ofelectrodes for the steel and aluminum industries. Catalyst coke iscoke that has deposited on the catalysts used in oil refining, suchas those in a catalytic cracker. This coke is impure and is onlyused for fuel. Petroleum coke's high heat and low ash make a goodfuel for power generation in coal-fired boilers but is high insulphur and low in volatile content which pose some environmentaland technical problems with its combustion. Metallurgical coke is produced by destructive distillation of coalin coke ovens. Prepared coal is "coked" or heated in an oxygen-freeatmosphere until all volatile components in the coal evapoarate. The remaining material is called "coke", sulphur content is low inthis form. Most metallurgical coke is used in iron and steelindustry processes such as blast furnaces, sinter plants, andfoundries to reduce iron ore to iron. Neither Coke or diet Coke are healthy. Coke is water, flavoring, sugar, and chemicals; diet Coke is water, flavoring, and chemicals. Drinking water is healthy. Drinking juice is healthy. Drinking milk is healthy. They all give some benefit that the body requires. Soft drinks do not; even diet sof…t drinks are not an improvement. If you're thirsty, drink water. If you need a pick me up, drink juice (real juice, not juice drink, ade, or juice cocktail; these are another form of sugar water flavored with juice). If you want to relax or chat with a friend and enjoy a beverage, a soft drink does no harm. It's when you habitually drink soft drinks that it's unhealthy; diet or regular. ( Full Answer )

Diet coke floats because Floating occurs because floating objects displace, or push aside, a certain amount of liquid. If an object displaces more than its weight in liquid, it floats; otherwise it sinks. Density (the mass per unit of volume) determines how much liquid is displaced. Density is usual…ly compared to water, which is assigned a density of 1. Materials sink if (like regular Coke) they are more dense than water, while less-dense materials, like Diet Coke, float. Regular Coca-Cola is more dense because of the sugar (or corn syrup) that is used to sweeten it. Because artificial sweeteners are more concentrated, there is less added to achieve the same sweetness in diet drinks..
No it`s just been made to much and nothing will ever take over Diet Coke

Diet coke contains a lot more sugar and fat which normal coke doesn't I don't know who the genius was who gave the above answer and why no one reading this idiotic response didn't correct it but i guess i will ~ obviously "normal" coke has more sugar in it - NOT Diet Coke. Diet Coke actually has… NO sugar in it. It contains the artificial sweetener "aspartame". As for "fat" content, neither contains any grams of fat as the label clearly states. Whew! Maybe people should learn how to read before asking stupid questions or posting equally, if not more, stupid answers! Thank you. ( Full Answer )

Probably because diet soda has a (well-deserved, in my opinion) reputation for tasting vile. They wanted to avoid that stigma, since Coke Zero is (again, in my opinion) rather less vile than most diet sodas (though anyone who says it tastes "just like regular Coke" has had their taste buds killed of…f by too much diet soda). Also, there was already a "Diet Coke" brand. The company probably didn't want people to confuse the two. ( Full Answer )
