A soundtrack either includes the music used in a movie, or songs that fit with the movie in general. A Karaoke CD, on the other hand, is filled with songs that (usually) have the lyrics removed, so you can sing the words yourself.
You could probably find karaoke versions of some songs that appear on soundtracks, true. However, if you try to sing along to the background music of a Transformers fight scene, for example, I for one will be very impressed.

yes there was when the movie first came out but the soundtrack was on LP only. I have never seen it in CD form. The soundtrack was never on CD nor what I was told that it will be. Not enough interest.
