Both morphine and Percocet are used to treat moderate to severe levels of pain. The difference between them is that morphine acts on its own whereas Percocet is a combination of acetaminophen and oxycodone.
Percocet is oxycodone and acetaminophen. Vicodin is hydrocodone and acetaminophen. Percocet is generally stronger and prescribed for moderate to severe pain, while Vicodin is prescribed for mild to moderate pain. Basically, in this day and age, you can get Vicodin for just about anything. I've had to be prescribed narcotic pain relievers numerous times, but have only gotten Percocet after surgical procedures.
From another Wikianswer post:
Vicodin is a class 3 narcotic, with hydrocodone. Percocet is a class 2 narcotic with oxycodone, which is a much stronger narcotic derivative. The risk of addiction varies with the dosage (small), with the length of time the drug is used and the personality of the patient.
The difference is one Percocet is oxycodone and acetaminophen and the other Percodan is Aspirin and Oxycodone Hydrochloride/Oxycodone Terephthalate . Of course you also have other mixtures such as: Combunox which is Oxycodone HCl and ibuprofen and Roxicodone which just contains Oxycodone Hydrochloride. I hope this helps but it's best to stay away from all this stuff.
Hi, Percocet is not the same as morphine, but if you have Allergies to morphine ;you may essentially react to percocet. Correct me if i am wrong anyone, there's an ingredient in percocet that is also present in morphine. Talk with your PCP or Pharmacist.
Vicodin is acetaminophen (Tylenol) mixed with hydrocodone. Percocet is acetaminophen mixed with oxycodone. Oxycodone is a bit stronger than hydrocodone.
None, they are both pain killers that contains opiates (codeine).
Not exactly. The narcotic in Percocet (oxycodone) is metabolized into morphine by the liver. Percocet contains no morphine.
No, morphine sulfate isn't the same as percocet.. which contains acetaminophen and oxycodone. At equivalent dosage and on a person who never took them before, oxycodone is 2 times more powerful than morphine.
No. Percocet is oxycodone and ms contin is Morphine. They will both show up.
I am surprised by this question since it is a easy one but, Morphine is by far stronger. Percocet is based from Morphine, heroin is also based off of morphine. But they both have different feelings when taken but the morphine of that mg will blow a Percocet 5 away.So basically the Morphine allow stronger.
Basically, yes. Percocet is a combination of oxycodone hydrochloride and acetaminophen (Tylenol™). Morphine, like oxycodone, is in the opioid family. Addition by Echo646: Morphine is stronger than percocet, however, and it can be more addictive and more likely to cause dependence, so even more care should be used when taking morphine. Every other opioid is judged by how well they treat pain compared to morphine.
Opana is it's own drug called (oxymorphone) which is a mix of percocet and morphine
There is only one 12 hour pain med on the market, and that's OxyContin. It isn't a combination of Percocet and Morphine - Percocet is a combination of Oxycodone and Tylenol. Oxycodone, like all natural opiate meds, are morphine derivatives. OxyContin is a timed-release version of Oxycodone.
Of course, vicodin,Percocet, morphine, roxys and Oxys are all synthetic heroin in smaller doses but the same
I used to take vicodon i really didnt care for it as much as percocet. but, morphine- way better!!
Morphine will reduce the withdrawal symotoms, but will do nothing toward detoxing from the percocet, since both are opiates. You will simply go into withdrawal again when the morphine wears off. You need to be detoxed in a medical setting.
There's no such thing as a 750MG percocet. A 5/500mg percocet has only 5mg of narcotic, and 500mg of Tylenol. The 750mg you are refering to is the amount of Tylenol in the percocet, not the amount of narcotic. However, morphine and percocet can be mixed at low doses. I just want to add that yes there is an es form of percocet called ultracet.
No, Percocet is not oxymorphone. Oxymorphone is a combination of oxycodone and morphine. Percocet is just oxycodone, except for 5's and 10's they also have acetaminophen in them.
