What is the difference between Podiatry and Pediatrics?
The difference between a podiatrist and pediatrician are the functions and type of doctors they are. Podiatrists treat all problems connected to the feet, whereas, Pediatricians treat children from infancy to the age of eighteen. Podiatrists are not medical doctors, they are doctors of podiatry. Pediatricians, on the other hand, are medical doctors.
It was actually started by Abraham Jacobi who was born in Germany in 1830. Hes considered the father of pediatrics and founded the first childrens clinic in the United States. Oh, and someone did just say "I'm gonna call it Pediatrics!" idiot... it comes from the Greek language meaning healer of children.
