1. A concentrated solution has a big concentration of the solute; for a dilute solution the situation is inverse.

2. The properties are also different: color, odor, pH, density, light absorption, viscosity, and many others.
concentrated and dilute are relative terms. Concentrated has more solute dissolved per liter than dilute.

Concentration: quantity of a substance in a mixture (in this case called the solution) related to total mass or volume.

Concentrated solution - an example: 1 liter of water containing 200 g of table salt.

Diluted solution - an example: 1 liter of water containing 20 g of table salt.

A concentrated solution contain a bigger mass of solute in the same volume of solvent.

Why was a concentrated solution used if there was no reaction with the dilute solution?

Because concentrated solution has more acidic particles as compared to dilute acid, so when there is no reaction with dilute acid then we use the concentrated acid.
