You might get mixed up because of different machines provided in the market here.

Most food processors nowadays can also turn into mixers - Where they can whip cream or eggs without sweat. Mixers are usually just mixers - They mix stuff with three common 'hands' - The hook, the flats, and the whisk.

Food processors' are originally used to process foods faster, like chopping, slicing, portioning, cutting or whatsoever.

Food processor and juicer differences:

  • Functionality - A juicer is basically designed to juice. A food processor can be used to produce many different types of food. Anything from mashed potatoes, baby food, slicing vegetables/fruits, grinding items, puree food, shred vegetables and even grate cheese. Obviously, the functions of a food processor is so much more than a juicer!
  • Manual vs Automatic - You can say that the juicer requires you to either manually cut fruits before feeding it into the juicer or stay with the juicer while you feed fruits into it. A food processor on the other hand is basically a set and forget machine. You just have to press a few buttons to do a specific function and you can do other things in the kitchen.
  • Wastage - A juicer basically reduces fruits or veges to juice and pulp. Quite a lot of it is wasted as pulp. A food processor makes use of the entire food portion and there are so many more things you can do with it as mentioned above.

A blender has sharp blades and is used for such things as mixed drinks, blending fruit into smoothies and chopping ice. A blender requires some liquid to function such a milk in the ice cream, or the solids stick to the wall and do not reach the blade. The object of a blender is to blend its contents into a smooth consistency.

A mixer is used to mix different ingredients together and may use little or no liquid. The most common types of mixers are the hand mixer that has two rotating mixing paddles (usually oval shaped with 4 flat metal spokes) and the stand mixer. The stand mixer is similar to a hand mixer but is attached to a stand with a more powerful motor. The most well known stand mixer is the Kitchen Aid which uses a single flat ceramic paddle or a wire whisk paddle. Many mixers also have a dough hook for making bread. Mixers are used for blending together cake mixes, icing, brownies, and just about anything that is cake or bread like. The paddles are also called beaters and kids know them best as the things they get to lick he icing off of. Mixers do not have sharp blades.

The difference between a blender and a mixer is a blender is where you put all your ingrediants into the large cup like container that fits onto the machine that has the buttons you press to mix, blend and so on. A mixer is a hand held machine that yoiu attach two metal extensions that are used as mixing tools. You get all your ingredients into a mixing bowl and grab your mixer and play the extension part into the bowl and turn on the mixer. The two extensions will rotate quickly therefore mixing the ingredients that you have in the bowl.

A food processor, while it will chop, mix and puree foods, will not liquidize (you need a blender for that); a food chopper will do just that: chop. It won't blend or puree.
