A main sequence star is a star that is not surprisingly on "the main sequence". This is the period when a star is fusing hydrogen into helium.
Most stars you see in the night sky are main sequence stars.
Even apart from how bright they appear, which is affected by how far they are from us, stars come in a tremendous range of sizes. So stars aren't all the same mass because the clouds from which they condense are not all the same mass.
Sortof. The main difference if that a massive star will burn quicker because of its denser core. A massive blue stars life will be much shorter than a star such as our sun because of this. However the main sequence is when a star burns H into He in what is known as a pp1 reaction, so in regards to the fusion reaction they are the same. After main sequence is where they really begin to vary. So the reactions are the same but one occurs much faster.
Hope it helps,
Terence
Main sequence is a period in a stars life, whereas a red dwarf is a type of star.
A red giant is a star and a super nova is an exploding star.
Tau
red giant
Red giant.
None of those is a main sequence star.
It will become a red giant.
I assume you mean 17 Tauri, one of the stars in the Pleaides cluster. The best information I can find is that it's about six times the radius of the Sun. Despite not being that much larger than the Sun, it's still a "giant" (not on the main sequence). Blue "dwarf" (main sequence) stars are actually not much smaller than the smallest blue "giant" stars, and the difference is determined spectroscopically rather than by size measurements.
main sequence,giant then nebula
Main-sequence,red giant,white dwarf.
A red main sequence star would be a red dwarf or a branch red giant. To be on the main sequence, you have to have hydrogen nuclear fusion.
No. Red giants are not on the main sequence.
After the main sequence, a star becomes a red giant.
red giant
Red Giant
i don't think so
Main sequence star: hydrogen-1. Red giants: helium-4.
The main difference between communication diagrams and sequence diagrams is that sequence diagrams are good at showing sequential logic but not that good at giving you a "big picture view" whereas communication diagrams are the exact opposite
Red giant.
None of those is a main sequence star.
