What is the difference between a standard schnauzer and a miniature schnauzer?

Well obviously a miniature dachshund is smaller than a regular sized dachsund. I own a three year own longhaired miniature dachshund and she is considerably smaller than a standard sized, but they are not actually very different other than size. They are still what I would consider a small dog trapped in a big dog's body. (:

∙ 15y agoA miniature schnauzer is smaller. They only get to be between 8-15 inches high, Standard schnauzers are bigger and grow taller, around 16-24 inches high. Also, they weigh different and tend to have different eating habits.

∙ 13y agoThe main difference is size. The mini is ofcourse mini. The standard doxie is largest and there is an even smaller kind of doxie that starts with a letter c (i don't know it) Long-haired doxies are only recognized as minis. smooth and wire coated can be both.

No. Giant Schnauzers and Miniature Schnauzers are not the same breed. Giant Schnauzers and Miniature Schnauzers have a common ancestry in that both breeds were "bred-up" and bred-down" from the standard schnauzer. The Miniature Schnauzer was "bred-down" by breeding terriers with the larger Standard Schnauzer. The Miniature Schnauzer is a terrier breed. The Giant Schnauzer is the result of breeding larger breeds, e.g. the Bouvier des Flandres and the Great Dane, with the Standard Schnauzer. The Giant Schnauzer is a Working Dog breed. Other than appearance, the Schnauzer name and their common ancestor, which seems like a lot, the Miniature Schnauzer and Giant Schnauzer share little else.

A full grown miniature schnauzer should weigh between 14 and 20 pounds. Perhaps your dog is a standard schnauzer, not a miniature. Miniatures should grow to be about a foot tall; standards, about a foot and a half. Is your puppy real tall or just overweight?

interesting question. A Datsun is a type of vehicle. I assume you meant "Miniature Dachshund". Since a cross between a Mini Dachs and a Mini Schnauzer is a mongrel, it would be very difficult to guess what it would look like, but I expect it would have shorter legs and a longer back than a Mini Schnauzer, and possibly be a bit smaller. Since there are three coat varieties of Dachshunds (Smooth, Long, and Wire), guessing the type of coat would be impossible.
