A World War (like World War I and World War II) has a lot of the world participating (in a more friendly word) in it.

A Civil War (like the Vietnamese Civil War/Vietnam War or the USA Civil war) is when a large body fights against each other in a war. It's not like when your class can't decide whether to have pepperoni or cheese for your Pizza party.

How did the American Civil War differ from the Revolutionary War?

The main difference between the American Civil War and the American Revolutionary War was that the Revolutionary War was fought between the British Empire and the American Colonies, the latter of which declared independence; and the "Civil War" was fought between the United States, and the Confederated States of America--two separate and distinct countries. So, in actuality, the "Civil War" was not a civil war, since it was a war between to countries.

What are the difference's between World War 1 and World War 1?

One of the differences between World war one and the American civil war was in terms of technology. The weapons used in World War One were more technologically advanced than the weapons used in the American Civil War. For example, the World War One was fought with machine guns, poison gas, tanks, planes and barbed wire, although barbed wire was not new it was still the first time it was used in a war, while the American Civil War was fought with rifles and bayonets. Another difference is the reason behind the war. World War One was fought because the next in line for Austria-Hungary's throne was killed and the allies of Austria-Hungary and Serbia all helped out so a small war turned into a World War. The American Civil War was very different, it was fought over the rights to have slaves.
