There is basically no difference between the two, except that iPod users can only download media onto their device that are from iTunes, whereas an MP3 user can download media from a number of different sources. IPods tend to have more accessories than MP3s, but the devices are used in the same way, just manufactured by different companies. MP3 devices are made by a number of companies, such as Coby or Sony.

∙ 16y agoan ipod, developed by the Apple company, is only partly an mp3 player. ipods have also been equipped with high storage capabilities, and the capacity to play video. the new ipod touch also has wifi, which enable you to surf the internet, and firmware downloads, that allow the configuration of the ipod touch to be refined and improved.
an m3 player on its own usually does not have a multicolor display like an ipod, and does not have a sophisticated touch sensing wheel. it cannot play anything but music in mp3 format, and usually stores 1 GB, where the ipod greatly surpasses that limit, and does much more.
no mp3 player has the appearance of an ipod

∙ 13y agoAn iPod is a LOT of money, none are under 100 bucks. If you go to eBay.com you can find mp3 and mp4 players for under 50 dollars and they can take pictures, video, any GB you want, any color you want, etc. etc. so, I would have to say MP3/MP4 players are a TON better.
