What is the difference between block format letter and simplified letter format?

1. In the Block format all notations and paragraphs start from the left hand margin; whereas in the simplified format, the date and the signature are aligned to the right side of the letter.

2. In the Block format, much attention is given to the content and the style of the language; whereas the Simplified format follows the most traditional and informal style of writing a letter.

3. In the Block format, the paragraphs are not indented; whereas in the simplified format, the paragraphs are indented.

4. In the Block format, the line endings may be justified or not justified for better reading; whereas in the simplified format, the line endings are not justified.

5. In the Simplified format the salutation and the complimentary close are omitted.
