the electoral community for the President's post consists of Members of both of Houses of Parliaments n legislative assembly members of all the state. The votes for MP's have equal weightages while the value of MLA's vote gets its weightage frm the population of the respective state.

President is Supreme Commander of all the three wings of defense forces. In practical sense its a just rubber stamp post. its true that PM is more powerful than president.

The major qualification with a few xeption like incumbent president is that u must b die hard loyalist to Gandhi Nehru family thats a pity but thats wt goin on rite now.

This time around prbly we can see corruption creeping in in to the president's election too.
