hi
i have a quation about the diference between the epdm and silicon gasket ?
on the oder hand which of them is good for seeling on the compress?
(meckanical parameter requred)
thanks.
The EPDM supplier will usually also supply a type of rubber based glue for this product.
EPDM/PTFE STRESS SAVER GASKETS T10(equivalent to Asahi gasket)----www.rubbersealing.comT.C.I valve gaskets offer a unique double convex ring design that gives optimum sealing with only one third the torque commonly required with flat faced gaskets. Durability is the property that sets apart EPDM from other roofing materials. EPDM roofing is very durable; it stands up extremely well to all the weather extremes and anything that is thrown at it. The material can also last for so many years and protect for decades.Make a call at : 855-281-0940. Our experts are always willing to help.
The best way is via infrared analysis. If you do not have any instrumentation available, you can burn a small piece of the rubber. When removed from the flame EPDM will give off a sooty smoke that smells waxy (like a burning candle).

No ,EPDM is only compatible with non oil based fluids.Mainly water.

Wafer and lug style butterfly valves don't require a separate gasket. The same gasket acts as a seat and a seal against the flanges that hold the valve in place. An AWWA butterfly is flanged and would require flange gaskets to seal against the flanges on the pipe. The seat on an AWWA butterfly valves is to provide a seal to stop the flow of water only.
EPDM or Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer is a specific type of synthetic rubber. But itβs not the same rubber found in car tires or toy balls. EPDM roofing system has the ability to maintain elasticity over time even if it is exposed to extreme temperatures and UV-rays and can withstand water ponding such as those found on commercial and industrial roofs.
Ethylene-Propylene-Diene-Monomer.
in the band aid world it is
it isn't!
what is the fullform of EPDM The full form of EPDM is Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer and it is a synthetic rubber with excellent stability. It has resistance to ozone and UV effects, heat and has good colour fastness (reduces colur fading).
The two terms are sometimes used interchangeably, but foam rubber is often used for rubbers that start off as liquids (e.g., latex, liquid urethanes) and sponge rubber is often used more for solid rubbers (e.g., EPDM, Nitrile (NBR), neoprene).
