Trumpet has bore that remains the same throughout most of its length before flaring rapidly close to the bell. The flügelhorn bore is conical from the third valve onwards and the bell is larger, giving a mellower sound.
There are also construction differences. From the mouthpiece receiver tube, the trumpet tube goes forward before sweeping back to enter the third valve, whilst the flügelhorn receiver pipe directly enters the first valve and as a result, instead of having a tuning crook, the receiver tubes is telescopically adjustable.
The fingering and pitch is normally the same in that both are Bb transposing instruments.
Minor clarification: they CAN be in B-flat, but trumpets are available in other keys besides B-flat.
The tubing on a cornet has more bends or is wound tighter depending on the model. The bore is different on the cornet, being more conical as opposed to the trumpet, which is more cylindrical, and the cornet mouthpiece has a smaller diameter shank. The cornet is generally considered to have a more mellow tone than a trumpet, but that depends partly on the mouthpiece and partly on the player.
For one thing, the mouthpieces are different. A Saxaphone has the same mouthpiece as a Clarinet, depending on whether it is a Alto Sax or Tenor Sax. The Saxaphone also needs a reed. The trumpet is made of some sort of metal and you have to make a buzzing sound in order to blow a note on the tumpet.
They also look different. I play the trumpet now, but these sites can give you a more detailed explanation. You should Google up pics of a Saxaphone or Trumpet to see the difference.
A Flute is woodwind and is played with keys. It is in the key of C Major and creates sound by blowing through a hole. It's range is a lot higher. A trumpet is a brass instrument and is played with piston valves. It is in the key of Bb Major and creates sound by buzzing into a mouthpiece. Its range is generally lower that the flute except for the soprano trumpet
trumpets are bigger than cornets (musical instrument not ice cream)
A flute is a woodwind instrument while trumpet is a brass instrument.
Well a french horn is round and kind of twisted and a trumpet is longer and thinner and has a slightly different noise:)
A flute is a woodwind and a trumpet is a brass. Depending on the type of trumpet it is usually curved and a flute is straight and narrow.
flute, you have to have your mouth a certain way for the trumpet but you only have to blow the flute
The trumpet is a member of the brass family; the flute is a woodwind. A trumpet has valves, and a flute has keys. A trumpet is in the key of B flat, while a flute is a C instrument. Much about them is different, but the similarity is that they are both metallic.
The Flute is in the Woodwind section/family and the Trumpet is in the Brass section/family.
They are completely different instruments, one is brass and the other is wood wind. A flute is a lot higher in pitch than a trumpet. They look different. The way you play them is different. The mouthpiece is different. One is a lot smaller and easy to pack up.
Trumpets are entirely different from flutes. For starters, the trumpet is made of brass, while a flute is generally made from a silver alloy most of the time. A trumpet is played to the front, a flute is played to the side, the trumpet has valves and a big horn on the front, a flute is straight out to the side and has keys. The sound is entirely different. Just listen to some trumpet music and then flute music. I'm sure you'll hear the difference.

flute has no reed
There is very little similarity between a trumpet and a flute other than that they are both musical instruments, they are both constructed of metal (but different metals), and they both use air in motion to produce sound. The trumpet, however, is usually placed with the horns, or brass instruments, while the flute is considered a woodwind. The mouthpiece of the trumpet is blown directly into, the flute is blown across. The trumpet uses valves to alter the pitch, the flute, keys. The trumpet usually starts at F# (below middle C) and has a range of 2 1/2 octaves. The flute begins at middle C with a range of 3 octaves. The trumpet uses an exponentially flared horn at the exit end to amplify sound. The flute uses no amplification system. The air channel of the trumpet is coiled, the flute, straight.
the lenght of both instruments can differ, but a flute is usually longer than a trumpet
